Students studied abroad at Champlain College's Campus in Montreal, Quebec during the Spring 2014 semester. At Champlain's state-of-the-art Academic Center in Montreal, students have the opportunity to receive international perspective and prepare to be global professionals.

Students studied abroad in Montreal, Quebec during the Fall 2013 semester. Students took full advantage of the local Champlain faculty and staff at the Montreal Campus who provided guided immersion tours and encouraged students to make their own travel opportunities. While abroad, students are also able to create strong friendships, share experiences and support each other in their explorations of place and self.

The Vagina Monologues, first performed in 1996, and has since been translated into over 48 languages and performed in over 140 countries, will be presented at Champlain College on Feb. 14 to benefit Hope Works, a local non-profit dedicated to ending all forms of sexual violence.

Champlain College's 10th Annual Hooding & Commencement Exercises were held on May 10 at Roger H. Perry Hall on campus. Some 128 candidates for master degrees were honored. Former Vermont Gov. Madeleine May Kunin was the Commencement speaker. She was the fourth woman to be elected Governor in the United States and the first woman to serve as Governor of Vermont. Angela Valentinni '13 was the student speaker and C. Sebastian Massey '12 spoken on behalf of the alumni. Champlain College President David Finney conferred degrees in a range of programs, from MBA and Health Care Management to Master of Fine Arts in Emergent Media and Master of Science in Law. The Champlain College 135th Commencement took place outdoors, under a tent on Edmunds Field in Burlington on Saturday, May 4. In all, 470 undergraduates earned their degrees. Vermont novelist and New York Times Bestseller, Chris Bohjalian delivered the Commencement address to degree candidates. George Chaffee, Vermont's captive insurance association founder, spoke on behalf of the two honorary degrees that were conferred. Bohjalian, received a Doctor of Fine Arts honorary degree; Chaffee, received a Doctor of Commerce honorary degree. Champlain College President David Finney noted a long list of accomplishments that graduating students had already achieved while working, serving and playing at Champlain. "Over 50 percent of the graduating class will be starting jobs within their field of study in the next few weeks," he recognized. Champlain College Seniors were recognized for their achievements at this year's Fourth Annual Graduate and Trustee Dinner held at Champlain College. The seniors who will graduate this coming May received awards at the annual dinner, hosted by President David F. Finney. The annual dinner, celebrates the graduating seniors and kicks off the events leading up to their May 4 Commencement cermony outdoors at Edmunds Middle School field, adjacent to Champlain College.

Champlain College's Division of Information Technology & Sciences honored the following students for their outstanding efforts within their field of study this past academic year.

This past February, 56 Champlain College students competed to pitch an original and creative business idea to Burlington area business people who would then decide on a first, second and third place winner in three different categories. The categories included non-profit/ social advocacy, job/internship seekers, and entrepreneurs.

Local students have recently had the opportunity to study at Champlain College's abroad campuses of Montreal, Canada and Dublin, Ireland. At both of the satellite campuses students have the chance to receive international perspective and prepare to be global professionals. Local Champlain faculty and staff at each campus provide guided immersion tours, as well as encourage students to make their own travel opportunities. Recently the Champlain College Theatre put on a riveting performance of the William Shakespeare tragedy, "Hamlet." The show, which took place over Feb. 13-16 & Feb. 20-23 was a collaboration between Champlain students/faculty and local Burlington actors.
