Champlain College

On March 24 on Champlain College's campus in Burlington, Vt., eight contestants competed in the ninth annual Mr. Champlain competition, held in Alumni Auditorium on Champlain College's campus in Burlington, Vt. Contestants tried to win over the audience and judges through talent, beach wear, formal wear, and question and answer rounds.

The LaunchVT Collegiate Champlain College Business Pitch Competition was held where nine student entrepreneurs competed for a total of $3,000 in cash prizes and the opportunity to represent Champlain at the LaunchVT Collegiate statewide competition on February 24 at Vermont Technical College in Randolph.

Several Champlain College students were recognized as finalists in the Launch VT business pitch competition. On Feb. 19, LaunchVT Collegiate is coming to Champlain College and will feature top college student entrepreneurs from campuses across Vermont vying for a spot in the finals of LaunchVT, with a $30,000 first prize at stake.

The following students were winners of Champlain College's 2015 Elevator Pitch Competition. Champlain students were challenged to create short plays to be performed. Not only were the students unaware of who their actors would be when writing their scripts, they had only 2 days to produce their work. Students were exposed to the world of theatre in hopes to spur them into finding a passion there. Prizes were as follows: first place $500, second place $250, and third place $150.

This past February, 56 Champlain College students competed to pitch an original and creative business idea to Burlington area business people who would then decide on a first, second and third place winner in three different categories. The categories included non-profit/ social advocacy, job/internship seekers, and entrepreneurs.
