Burlington, VT (12/13/2018) — On December 3, the Robert P. Stiller School of Business at Champlain College inducted its first members to the Omicron Iota chapter of Delta Mu Delta (DMD) International Honor Society in Business. "Delta Mu Delta honors outstanding business students for high academic achievement," says Dr. Jen Vincent, Professor of Economics and President of the Delta Mu Delta chapter at Champlain. "Students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.7 and be in the top 20% of their class to earn an invitation to membership. Not only is it a rewarding personal achievement in and of itself, but it's also a notable accomplishment for current or prospective employers and graduate schools."

Delta Mu Delta was founded in 1913 by professors from New York University, Yale, and Harvard. The founding educators believed recognition should be given to outstanding business students. DMD promotes scholarship and education in business and recognizes and rewards scholastic achievement in business subjects.

"It is a great pleasure to become a member of the Delta Mu Delta, said Qinghua Li, a senior who moved to the United States from China and transfered to Champlain from CCV. "Two years ago, I couldn't imagine that I would be studying at Champlain. Today, I'm very thankful for all my professors, classmates, and the community I have found here."

As part of the induction ceremony, first-year SSB BUS 110 students held a poster session to show the value propositions behind products and services like Smart Shoes, a Washer/Dryer/Folder-in-One, and other innovative business concepts. The first-year students remained to attend the honors ceremony and cheer on their peers. See photos from the honors ceremony and poster session.
