Matthew Fortier Honored At Student Employee Awards at Champlain College

Matthew Fortier of Kennebunk, ME was nominated for a Student Employee Award at the second annual Student Employee Recognition Event on Tuesday, April 11 at Champlain College's campus in Burlington, Vt.

The event celebrated the hard work that more than 725 student employees have put in this year with free food, gifts, raffles, and a video created by fellow student workers.

The Student Employee Awards were granted based off of recommendations from student's supervisors. There was a winner and a runner-up for each of the seven awards, and a total of 53 nominees.

Student Employee of the Year Award Winners:

• Runner up: Mackenzie Marsocci, ITS Department
• Winner: Matthew Fortier, LCDI

*Also won Vermont Student Employee of the Year.

Communication Award Winners:

• Runner up: Amanda Johnson, LCDI
• Winner: Jared Knepper, Marketing Dept

Leadership Award Winners:

• Runner up: Nicole Stratis, Service and Sustainability Learning
• Winner: Tara Alexander, Admissions

Problem Solving Award Winners:

• Runner up: Christopher Lynch, Library
• Winner: Simeon Pol, ITS

Rookie of the Year Award Winners:

• Runner up: Max Mackson, Media Services
• Winner: Montse Guerra-Solano, Marketing

Teamwork Award Winners:

• Runner up: Jade Ye, Admissions
• Winner: Brandon Brozek, LCDI

Work Ethic and Initiative Award Winners:

• Runner up: Lily Colbert-Carreiro, EHS Division
• Winner: Dylan Helstien, Financial Aid Dept
