Curran McKee of Burlington, VT Participates In 40-Hour Filmmaking Competition

Curran McKee of Burlington, VT participated in a 40-hour filmmaking competition, "Sleepless in Burlington," held from Oct. 30 to Nov. 1 during the Vermont International Film Festival.

The competition involves four teams of film students from Champlain College, Middlebury College, Burlington College and the University of Vermont creating short works over the course of a weekend.

The completed films were presented on Nov. 1 at the Main Street Landing Film House. The entries were judged by a panel of film professionals headed by Colin Trevorrow, the acclaimed director of films such as Safety Not Guaranteed and Jurassic World. Awards for Best Film, Best Actor, Best Actress, and Audience Choice were presented.

Champlain College offers a BFA in Filmmaking that allows students access to cutting-edge technology and the opportunity to develop creative and technical filmmaking skills. Students in the program are exposed to a variety of filmmaking styles, explore different production roles and obtain a solid foundation in film history, aesthetics and criticism along with the business side of film.
