Benjamin Demars of Morrisville, VT was a winner of one of the competitions at the Champlain College Ski and Ride Club's "Shorts & Shades at Sugarbush" event.

Formerly known as "Snowcial," Shorts & Shades at Sugarbush is Champlain Ski & Ride's way of saying thank you and goodbye to the winter season. On Saturday, March 26, the club stepped away from the usual contest perspective associated with Snowcial in the past, and focused more on why they created the event in the first place: to get out on the mountain with your friends and celebrate the end of the season.

The competitions were kept fun-spirited, with participants in teams of two or more dressing up for a costume contest and prizes also going to the winners of "Chinese Downhill" and the "Go Hard Award."

With great weather, free transportation from campus to the mountain and back, and lots of laughs, the day provided Champlain students the perfect celebration to a not so snowy winter.

Best Costume (Group): Ben & Jerry's - Simeon Pol, Liam Murphy, Noah Kozlowski, Jonah Allibone and Ben Demars

Best Costume (Individual): Taylor Bibaud

Chinese Downhill 1st Place: Max Erickson

Chinese Downhill 2nd Place: Damian Dryjas

Chinese Downhill 3rd Place: Nick Beauregard

Go Hard Award: Jack Churcher
